The Stop the Bleed Coalition announced that it has received a generous grant from Teleflex (NYSE:TFX) to support its STOP THE BLEED® campaign educational programs.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled about this support from Teleflex,” said Dr. Matthew Levy, Board Chairman of Stop the Bleed Coalition.  “Training is at the heart of the STOP THE BLEED® campaign.  Teleflex’ grant will help to accelerate our education programs.”

“We are delighted to support the Stop the Bleed Coalition in the promotion of the STOP THE BLEED® initiative. Teleflex’s purpose is to provide medical technologies designed to improve the health and quality of people’s lives,” said Michelle Fox, Corporate Vice President, and Chief Medical Officer. “By supporting the STOP THE BLEED® Coalition, we are meeting our purpose of improving lives through programs that drive awareness of and education in controlling or stopping bleeding.”

Teleflex, through its acquisition of Z-Medica, LLC, is the maker of Quikclot, a Department of Defense approved and STOP THE BLEED®  licensed, hemostatic dressing.  Hemostatic dressings are one of the primary components of approved  DoD STOP THE BLEED® Kits.
