September is almost here and that means it’s time to get ready for National Preparedness Month (“NPM”). NPM is an initiative sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (“FEMA”), part of the US Department of Homeland Security. You can find out more about it here. This year’s theme is: “The life you’ve built is worth protecting. Prepare for disasters to create a lasting legacy for you and your family.”
There are all types of disasters and emergencies. We are focused on a particular type – a bleeding emergency. As you map out your activities for NPM, we hope you incorporate STOP THE BLEED® training into your plans. Visit our training resources page to learn more.
For schools at all levels, September also marks the beginning of a new year. It’s also a great time to start a STOP THE BLEED® Club, if your school does not already have one. The STOP THE BLEED® Club program is free and provides tools and resources to start or enhance an existing STOP THE BLEED® program. Find out more about Clubs here.
